 The Minute of First Meeting in 2009
The Chinese Branch of International Association on Mechanization of Field Experiments (IAMFE)

The Chinese Branch of International Association on Mechanization of Field Experiments (IAMFE) held the first meeting in the year of 2009 at afternoon of 18th February in the meeting room of Agronomy & Bio-Technology College, China Agricultural University (CAU). The participates included President of IAMFE China Branch, the head of Mechanical & Electrical College, Qingdao Agricultural University (QAU), Prof. Shang Shuqi, Honorary President Prof.. Guo Peiyu, Consultant Prof. Wang Yu’an, Branch Secretary, head of Seed Science & Engineering Center, CAU, Prof. Wang Jianhua, Vice Secretary, Seed Science & Engineering Center, CAU Associate Prof. Sun Qin.
Prof. Shang Shuqi introduced the situation of 13th International Conference and Exhibition on Mechanization of Field Experiments, Denmark 2008, and the situation of 8th Congress of China Agricultural Engineering Society:
- The 7 members of China Branch took part in the Denmark Conference. There were 5 papers being read out on the conference from China. On the IAMFE General Assembly, Prof. Shang Shuqi was elected to be new president. This is the first time that a Chinese becomes the top leader of IAMFE, which has 44 years long history, 12 branches, and its members come from more than 130 countries. Mr. Ma Zhiqiang, Agricultural Technological Center, Agricultural Ministry, PRC, was elected to be a member of Executive Committee. China Branch has successfully applied to be the organizer of 14th International Conference and Exhibition on Mechanization of Field Experiments in 2012.
- The 8th Congress of China Agricultural Engineering Society has recognized our committee work. specially in international exchange and cooperation. The society will support IAMFE 2012 international conference. The congress commend the branch secretary Prof. Wang Jianhua to be the advanced operator. And Prof. Shang Shuqi was elected to be a member of standing committee of the society. The vice president of China branch, Prof. Chen Suaojiang, CAU was elected to be a member of council. The congress discussed the works of various committees.
During the meeting Prof. Guo Peiyu has given a general view on work of China Branch and suggested how to organize the research of the Chinese seed breeding machinery. He also pointed out the important measure for 2012 IAMFE conference is closely cooperation with Technology Center, Agronomy Department, Ministry of Agriculture, PRC. Relay on Mr. Ma Zhijiang, the member of IAMFE Executive Committee for the best connection with the ministry. The 2010 yearly workshop could be parallel hold with the conference of China Seed Association. Mr. Ma is its secretary. It will accumulate the experiences for IAMFE 2012. Prof. Wang Jianhua has suggested applying the research program of seed test and processing. She suggested that China Branch could cooperated with Seed Education Coalition to hold the 2009 Yunnan Conference and 2010 Xinjiang conference. That will extent the IAMFE impact. Prof. Wang Yu’an also put forward many suggestions. We have discussed the long term strategy. The working scope of China Branch needs to extent to the Seed Engineering Area for the best linkage of various seed industries.
The meeting deeply discussed the affairs of IAMFE 2012 Conference. Suggested the theme of the conference could be “Seed Breeding and Seed Engineering”. We should do our best for Expending the country numbers. We aimed that the foreign participates could reach to 70-80. The research and popularition of low cost and applicable plot machinery should be paying more attention. WE hope that will be a hot point in IAMFE 2012 Exhibition. A planning group needs to be set up soon. A colorful leaflet will be edited soon also.
At before noon of 19th February, the Branch members visited Ministry of Agriculture. Formal Vice- Director of Technology Center, senior agronomist, Mr. Li Liqiu, head and vice head of Seed Development Division Mr. Ma Zhiqiang, Mr. Bai Changqing, and the division engineer Mr. Ma Jiguang met us in the first meeting room. Both sides made the introductions of their own working scope and wishes. Mr. Li Liqiu pointed out the responsibility of the Seed Development Division and Seed Association. After discussion the meeting drew out the decisions. The Branch will join the related activates of seed industry, and carry the research projects on seed science and seed engineering. The China Branch and Seed Development Division will in charge to organize the IAMFE 2012 conference. A national seed industry conference and exhibition will be organized in October, 2010 at Qingdao city. It will accumulate the experiences for the IAMFE Qingdao 2012. The meeting has made a schedule for the further work.

Attend the Yunnan seed conference. Make a speech for introduction IAMFE.

The member of China Branch attend the Seed Conference in Zengzou hold by Seen Association. Introduce the IAMFE.

Set up organization committee of IAMFE Qingdao 2012- 14th International Conference and Exhibition on Mechanization of Field Experiments.

Attend the Xinjiang seed conference. Make a speech for introduction IAMFE.
